Why handmade soap is better?

Handmade cold processed soap is the first handmade skincare I tried. After that, I switched to natural CP soap and have been using it for 3 years. I did some researches and found that commercial soaps and shower gels sold in stores often made with chemical detergents, hardeners and synthetic lathering agents. These ingredients give a temporary silky touch to skin but after long term usage, the stratum corneum becomes thinner and result in lowered skin resistance. When the skin resistance is low, it has higher risk to have eczema and dermatitis. On the other hand, handmade soap created with oils and lye which  doesn't contain any nasty chemicals. Oils contain so much nutrition that nourish the skin. Also, the soap making process produces glycerine. Glycerine is a humectant that attracts moisture from the air to skin. This is why handmade soap is so beneficial to skin. We always feel dry after using the commercial ones. The reason is that they make soap bars to get glycerine and sell it to skincare companies. Soaps are the by products and they add some nasty chemicals and fragrances to sell.

Handmade soap is made with oils such as coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter, cocoa butter...etc. The combination of oils and butters makes each bar unique. We can also customise the formulation for different skin types or skin concerns. Handmade soaps are not only friendly to our skin but also to the environment due to the natural ingredients. These ingredients are all bio-degradable, so they won'y cause any pollutions.

Natural handmade soaps are just amazing. Say goodbye to the commercial ones and switch to handmade soap bars.
